Fleming: "Mission Impossible 4" a go at Paramount

Paramount Pictures today will clinch has clinched its deal with Tom Cruise to reprise his role as Ethan Hunt in Mission Impossible 4. Cruise will produce the film with J.J. Abrams. They are looking for a director, but screenwriters Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec are already attached to write the script.

Fleming: Spielberg withdraws from "Harvey"

Steven Spielberg has officially withdrawn from “Harvey.” He spent the last half year developing the picture to be his first directing vehicle for the reconstituted DreamWorks.

Hearing Mark Pellington is in negotiations to direct New Line's "The Orphanage," written by Guillermo Del Toro and Larry Fessenden (who was previously attached to direct).  Previously, Reese Witherspoon had been negotiating to play the lead, but that deal must not have made, becuase the rumor is that ContraFilm will be going out to Sandra Bullock to star.
